This 70 minute axe throwing experience is perfect for everyone as you’ll have the expertise of our professional axe throwing instructor to guide you through your session even if you’ve never done it before. You’ll be shown a range of different throws with the option of taking the competition to the next level with some fun axe throwing games!

I’ve always had an interest in axes, and after having a session booked as a present before Christmas last year (thank you excellent wife!) I’ve become hooked on throwing axes at Axcalibur! This is no ordinary axe throwing venue, but a properly medieval themed hall a stone’s throw from Caerphilly castle. Alex and Lela are the perfect hosts and if your new to this, you will get great instruction on various axe throwing techniques. Throwing axes is both addictive and a fantastic way to relax. As you launch axe after axe into the target, your stresses and strains of the day will be banished with the satisfying thud of steel into the target. No better way to unwind! The only downside is you’ll be having so much fun the 70 minutes are up before you know it. My solution, come back the following week for another session. It is excellent!

What a way to spend a Saturday night, who needs pubs and clubs when you could go to a medieval themed axe throwing venue, throw axes, have a laugh and feel like you had a workout at the same time. Aleks and Lela were fun, encouraging, friendly and kept things safe which I am sure is quite the balance. They accommodated my nan so well, she had a good few throws and showed she is still the old battle-axe we love.
As someone who never normally does things like this I can say that I had the best evening in a long time, you get shown different methods to throw and you try to get better at each methods before settling on a favourite. And to top it off it is a workout. The only question is how many axes do I need to throw to get as in shape as Aleks and Lela? Looks like I am going to have to book again soon 😀
An activity that has to be tried at least once, even those who have less power in their arm can hit target with a few tweaks and tips from the hosts.

We went here for a 30th birthday celebration and had so much fun! The atmosphere and attention to detail with the decor is incredible.
We were taught how to throw the axes in numerous ways with very helpful guidance which was super fun and we even got to dress up in medieval costumes at the end!
They even took some photos and videos to send to us at the end which was a lovely touch
10/10!!! We can’t wait to go back again 🙂

Went this afternoon for our ‘Christmas Do’ and from the moment we walked in, it was brilliant!! Alek and Lela were amazing hosts! We all literally laughed the entire time! Was brilliant that they take photos and videos as you’re playing and send them to you literally straight away!
Would 100% recommend and will definitely be returning! Dressing up and props at the end was a fab touch!

I’m a regular at Axcalibur, And I love having a throwing session there at any opportunity. After a bit of persuasion my wife decided to give it a go and a couple of friends came along too…and they all absolutely loved it! We are all planning a repeat visit as it was so much fun. Alek and Lela are the perfect hosts, funny, engaging, excellent instruction throughout the session. All in all a brilliant 70 mins spent at the best axe throwing venue you will ever spend time in. If you think it’s not for you ask yourself the following questions. Do I have one working eyeball? Do I have one working arm? If it’s yes to both those questions you must give it a go. You…will…love…it!

We thoroughly embraced the dressing up and axe throwing. Definitely do the dress up part as it really adds to the experience. The collection of armour will make you jealous. My favourite was the executioner outfit. Enormously big axe at the ready.
The intruction was comprehensive and if you follow it, you can definitely take out a lot of pent up aggression. Ladies, if your husband has annoyed you, this is the activity for you.

What an awesome place with a fantastic atmosphere! As soon as you walk through the door the decor hits you and you feel like you have stepped back in time. The walls are graced with armour, swords, shields and axes and there is straw on the floor which makes it feel very authentic! The four of us had booked in for an Axe Throwing session on a wet Sunday afternoon, we were unsure of what to expect but Aleks & Lela instantly made us feel welcome and excited to throw some axes. Aleks spent time with all of us showing us some different throwing techniques until we were all hitting the target! We had such a great time and so many laughs…at the end of the session we all dressed in medieval costume for a final group photo shoot, a brilliant end to a great afternoon, we will definitely be going again! AxCalibur in Caerphilly is an absolute blast. The venue itself is stunning — step inside and it genuinely feels like you’ve walked into a medieval hall. The atmosphere sets the tone right away and makes the whole experience feel special.
The staff are super friendly and welcoming from the moment you arrive. Coaching is excellent too — whether it’s your first time hurling an axe or you’ve done it a bunch before, they make it fun and easy to get the hang of it. The mix of good vibes, great instruction, and that immersive setting makes for a really fun time.
Highly recommended for groups, birthdays, date nights, or just a good time with mates. Would definitely go back!

Took my brother axe throwing for his birthday, once through the door you feel like you’ve stepped out of modern day to a time before, the setting and music are brilliant for the experience, Aleks & Lela are great hosts, Alek’s a great instructor, shows you the different types of throws, steps back and leaves you to get on with it, with little hints and tips when needed, all finnished off with a bit of dress up is always fun.

Great fun and great ambience. Alex and Lela are fantastic hosts and excellent tutors. As some one completely new to axe throwing (and really not very good with a ball) I was sceptical about my own abilities. However, with encouragement, I improved quickly and started to actually hit the target. Can’t ask for more than that!!! Will definitely be going again and would highly recommend you book, whether you’re a visitor or a resident. Well worth the money
